Shiver your way from Wrexham to Phwelli, up Snowdon and down into the dungeons of Conwy Castle. Be frightened; be very frightened. These stories collected from around North Wales will have you on the edge of your seat and you’ll be way too scared to turn off the light at night!
The ghosts of North Wales are as wild and as fascinating as the land they haunt. Here can be found the ghosts of profligate squires, cruel murderers and fierce knights, weird animal-like apparitions and grotesque half-human creatures. There are many gentler ghosts, too, including unearthly music emanating from old churches, and the quiet presence of former occupants of homes they loved and apparently cannot bear to leave. Some of these ghosts are of great antiquity: one indeed may date back more than three thousand years to the Bronze Age.
Many of the region’s most interesting and historic houses are haunted and you will find plenty of other places worth visiting for more than just their spooky reputations. You will also be lucky enough to pass through some of the UK’s most beautiful and spectacular scenery while travelling to and from them.
